An ongoing pop up exhibition, the challenge of "4x4" is that no dimension can exceed four inches. For Bluestockings, this has been a great way to make time for a creative practice or work experimentally while generating unique pieces. There is a history of the miniature in art that is specifically associated with the feminine. In an effort to counter the stigma against it, we have chosen to celebrate the intimacy as well as accessibility that this scale encourages.
