Agenda

11-12
Potluck/small talk
-11:45-12 Opportunity for breakaway conversations for those with projects to build, topics to delve into, ideas to workshop, and brainstorming. If you have something on your mind, post it in the event discussion in advance to find like-minded members and cook something up in this window before official business!

noon-1
-Introductions with new emphasis on our core mission*
-Info/update re: non-profit taxes
-Updates on OneIowa LGBTQIA+ training (ongoing)
-Update on pending exhibitions/ideas for new projects
-Updates on local art projects and potential volunteers needed: plan for art center is moving forward!
-Planning to collaborate with Over the Moon during Iowa City Pride 2020

*A reminder on the new introductions:
1.) What have you tried this month to help center your creative practice?
2.) What have you tried this month to help educate/reach out to the community about local art (your own and others)?
3.) How have you been endeavoring to improve your allyship/how have you been working on connections with marginalized folks?

The above are a reflection of the core mission of Bluestockings, to work on our art practices, to educate the community about local art, and to maintain an intersectional feminist approach. Everyone is in a different place with each of these aspects, and for some, it may be as simple as pursuing resources to better educate yourself, changing some priorities to focus on self care, or attending a friend's art show. This is hopefully a way to both emphasize these goals for the group, and practice some personal accountability on the things you want to work on and want the group to help support you with.

Bluestockings meetings are open to any and all artists/crafters/makers who want to grow their creative practice, live in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area, and identify as women, trans people of all gender identities, femmes, and non-binary folks.

Attendance

Jillian Moore, Lauren Tucci, Kelly Kinser
